5 Facts about Life

Fact #1

The Designer of Life

Have you ever wondered who made the animals or the mountains? How did man get here? Could there really be a God?

As we look around our planet, we   realize that everything has a design. Look at a watch, for example, and you know there must have been a watch-maker. When you see a beautiful painting, you know there has to be a painter. It is obvious that a skyscraper had an architect: someone wise had to build it. As we look at the intricate designs of life all around us, from leaves to fingerprints, we know there must be an Intelligent Designer!

The Bible tells us that there is a wise God who created this universe. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” In only six days, God made the light, the air we breathe, the water, and the land. God made the fish, the birds in the sky, and all the land animals and plants; but most importantly, God made mankind.

How did God do all this? First, we must understand some important facts about God. God is perfect and holy. He is All-powerful and can create whatever He wants by His command! The true living God who has the power to make this world has the ability to reveal Himself to us.

Fact #2

The Directions of Life

God  chose to reveal Himself through a Book called the Holy Bible. I Peter 1:21 says, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

In the Holy Scriptures, we learn that man is given his identity by his maker.  Genesis 1:26 says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over … all the earth…” This is why the life of mankind has great value. You are important to God!

The Creator is one God in three Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He made man with three parts: body, soul, and spirit. Man is both a physical and spiritual being. He is superior to everything else in creation.

Trees and plants have seeds and are able to reproduce; but they can’t worship God. Birds, fish, and land animals are intelligent. With their instincts they can do amazing things. But God cannot have a conversation with animals. God made man with a heart and mind, having the ability to make choices. God loves us and wants each person to love him. This is why God made man and woman superior to all of nature and gave us the Bible to explain His plan for life.

Fact #3

The Deceiver of Life

The God who created this world has the right to make the rules. God told the first man Adam and the first woman Eve that they could eat from any tree in the Garden except for one. This was a test to see if Adam and Eve would love God more than they loved themselves and if they would obey His authority.

Meanwhile, up in heaven, there was a beautiful angel named Lucifer. He became  lifted up with pride and wanted to be like the Most High God. Lucifer was not content with worshiping God, but rather wanted to be God—just as many people want to do today. Thus, God had to cast Lucifer (Satan) out of Heaven. Satan came to the Garden and took the form of a beautiful animal God had made– a snake! The snake came and  tempted them by questioning God’s command. Sadly, they disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit. Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

Immediately Adam and Eve felt guilty and ashamed. They ran to hide from God’s presence. They tried to cover themselves with leaves, but that would not do. So God in His love, took the life of an innocent animal in their place and used its skins to clothe them.

Fact #4

The Deliverer of Life

The damage had been done. You see, when man disobeys God, it is sin. When we break God’s laws, we are breaking God’s heart. Because God is holy, He cannot ignore our wrong-doing. Instead, He must punish all sin. All sinners are destined to go where Satan is doomed—the lake of fire. As Adam and Eve where forced to leave the Garden after their disobedience, so mankind is also separated from God’s presence because of our sin.    Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD.”

Because God loves mankind, He sent His only Son Jesus to deliver us! Jesus is the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world. Jesus was born without sin and never did anything wrong. Yet he was crucified on a Roman cross as though he was a criminal. He offered his own life’s blood to pay for your sin. Why did Jesus do that? Because He loves you! “But God commendeth [proved] his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

Jesus proved his power when He rose again from the dead after three days. He offers to forgive the sin of all who come to him by faith. Do you believe that Jesus died in your place and can reconcile you with God?

Fact #5

The Decision of Life

You, my friend, are the Decider of life! Will you turn toward God from your sin and abandon your self-righteousness? Are you willing to stop justifying your sinful ways through your own religion and good works? Will you place your trust in the only Deliverer, the Lord Jesus Christ? Will you accept the work that Jesus has done on the cross as your soul’s payment – as the fulfillment of what the Just God demanded for the penalty of your sin? Will you believe on Jesus today?

Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.” Eternal life is a gift of God, and can be yours if you call out to Jesus to save you. The result is eternal life in Heaven with God!
